Digital language lab control
Desktop and tablet software that replaced a legacy language-lab controller: audio routing, tests, speech transcription and an 11-language narrator.

Problem
Language labs ran on software written years ago in Delphi. It was hard to extend, did not support new hardware revisions and gave teachers no modern tools.
Solution
A new desktop application drives the audio control unit and the student stations: who hears whom, recording, materials, tests and votes. Four hardware variants sit behind one interface, so the UI never knows which device it is talking to. The teacher’s tablet works as a remote.
Highlights
- Four interchangeable hardware backends (UART among them) behind one contract and capability flags.
- Tests with a presenter window, voting, speech transcription and pronunciation scoring.
- Text-to-speech narrator in 11 languages and accessibility: screen reader support and image descriptions for visually impaired students.
- Audio bridge connecting two labs.
- Signed licences bound to the device serial number, a demo mode without hardware, a signed installer with auto-update.
